to photography, Bob (the photographer) has been a licensed ham radio operator
for decades. WB8PPG is an amateur radio (ham) call sign. Amateur
call signs are assigned by the FCC after the operator has passed one or
more tests to earn the license. Hams, like Bob and myself, have the
privilege of operating on "world-wide" radio frequencies and have enjoyed
conversations with hams in hundreds of other countries. For more
